The Spring of 2023 begins with yet another acquittal in a child molestation case and a Super Lawyers selection for the 11th year in a row.
It has been a long time since we’ve bragged about our accomplishments on our legal blog as we typically reserve this for updating lawyers and the public on recent developments in the law. But, as the month of April comes to a close, we can’t help but acknowledge what an incredible few months we have had thus far in 2023.
We began the year by obtaining dismissals in a child molestation case, another case involving charges of statutory rape, and a third dismissal in a federal child exploitation investigation. The last of the three dismissals was obtained prior to arrest!
Then in March, Bernard was selected to the Georgia Super Lawyers list for the 11th year in a row. This is Bernard’s 13th selection as he was twice named a Georgia Rising Star earlier in his career.
Finally, in the last week of April, we obtained an acquittal for our client who had been falsely accused of child molestation. The case had been pending since 2019 and we had been unsuccessful in convincing the district attorney’s office to dismiss the case. After a jury trial that lasted the majority of the week, the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty for our client late in the day on Thursday.
This was our third acquittal in a child molestation trial in the last 18 months – an accomplishment that we are extremely proud of! We are so grateful to have the opportunity to represent the falsely accused and to be able to successfully prove their innocence each and every time!
